Community Center at Visitation/Visitation Parish

Community Center at Visitation/Visitation Parish serves residents of Kensington. "The Community Center at Visitation (formerly the Cardinal Bevilacqua Community Center), a project of Visitation BVM Parish, provides a safe place to offer community outreach, continuous education, and recreation while seeking always to embrace and celebrate the diverse cultural communities of Kensington and its surrounding neighborhoods; we place a particular focus on serving the youth, seniors, and immigrant populations within the community. The center is full of community life and serves as a Beacon of Hope for the people within its neighborhoods regardless of religion, gender, race, creed, or national origin."

LaSalle Academy

LaSalle Academy is located in north Philadelphia and is conducted in the traditions of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and the Sisters of Saint Joseph. "LaSalle academy is dedicated to educating children in grades 3 through 8 whose life opportunities are limited by financial, social, academic challenges, and whose parents/guardians desire, but can not afford, a Catholic education."

The SSJ Welcome Center

The SSJ Welcome Center is located in the Kensington Neighborhood of Philadelphia. The Welcome Center seeks to serve the neighborhood community through offering ESL classes and resources for immigrants in Philadelphia. "In the just and compassionate spirit of Saint Joseph, the Welcome Center offers opportunities that enable immigrants and others to improve the quality of their lives through access to education, support services and programs leading to self-sufficiency. This neighborhood center in urban Philadelphia extends hospitality, linking newcomers and persons with resources for the enrichment of both."
